Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Chupacabra Creature Design

These are some early creature design done for the Chupacabra from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. For these, I researched how Chupacabras were portrayed over the years and worked on incorporating some of these characteristics into the design. An example of this is that in some stories there are references to it leaving three puncture marks on its prey. I worked on incorporated this into the head design by adding three large fangs. Its body was also heavily inspired by baby kangaroos and rats to give it a mischevious rodent feel.

For the second sketch, I looked at bat skulls and their teeth arrangement for its head. I also gave it raptor-like claws for holding onto its prey in addition to a snake-like prehensile tail. I wanted it to look fierce even though it's pretty tiny.
